RECOMMENDATION(S):

APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Health Services Director, or designee, to execute on behalf of the County, Contract Amendment/Extension Agreement #27-814-3 with Credentals Services, Inc. (dba VerifPoint/Credentialing Solutions), a corporation, effective June 1, 2016 to amend Contract #27-814-2 to increase the payment limit by $35,000 from $70,000 to a new payment limit of $105,000 and extend the termination date from September 30, 2016 to September 30, 2017.

FISCAL IMPACT:

This amendment is funded 100% Contra Costa Health Plan Enterprise Fund II. (No rate increase)

BACKGROUND:

On September 23, 2014, the Board of Supervisors approved Contract #27-814-2 with Credentals Services, Inc. (dba VerifPoint/Credentialing Solutions) for the provision of credentialing services for healthcare providers for the period from October 1, 2014 through September 30, 2016, which included mutual indemnification. Approval of Contract Amendment/ Extension Agreement #27-814-3 will allow the Contractor to provide additional credentialing services for healthcare providers through September 30, 2017, including continuation of mutual indemnification.

CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:

If this amendment is not approved, the County’s providers will not be credentialed and Contra Costa Health Plan would be at-risk for non-compliance with Federal, State and contractual requirements which could subject the County to potential sanctions, civil penalties and corrective action plans.
