RECOMMENDATION(S):

APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Health Services Director, or designee, to execute on behalf of the County, Contract #27-252-5 with Bruce R. Carlton, M.D., Inc., a corporation, in an amount not to exceed $150,000 to provide dermatology services for Contra Costa Health Plan members for the period from July 1, 2016 through June 30, 2018.

FISCAL IMPACT:

This Contract is funded 100% Contra Costa Health Plan Enterprise Fund II. (No rate increase)

BACKGROUND:

In August 2014, the County Administrator approved and Purchasing Services Manager executed Contract #27-252-4 with Bruce R. Carlton, M.D., Inc., for the provision of dermatology services to Contra Costa Health Plan members for the period from July 1, 2014 through June 30, 2016. Approval of Contract #27-252-5 will allow Contractor to continue providing dermatology services through June 30, 2018.

CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:

If this contract is not approved, certain specialized health care services for its members under the terms of their Individual and Group Health Plan membership contracts with the County will not be provided.
