RECOMMENDATION(S):

APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Health Services Director, or designee, to execute on behalf of the County, Contract #26-770-1 with Cabrillo Emergency Physicians Medical Group, Inc., a corporation, in an amount not to exceed $1,000,000 to provide temporary physicians and recruitment services for Contra Costa Regional Medical Center and Contra Costa Health Centers (CCRMC) for the period from July 1, 2016 through June 30, 2018.

FISCAL IMPACT:

This Contract is funded 100% Hospital Enterprise Fund I. No rate increase.

BACKGROUND:

On July 29, 2014, the Board of Supervisors approved Contract #26-770 with Cabrillo Emergency Physicians Medical Group, Inc., for the provision of temporary physicians and recruitment services for CCRMC, including modification to the County Standard General Conditions, Paragraph 14, (Independent Contractor Status), Paragraph 18, (Indemnification), and Paragraph 19 (Insurance) for the period from June 15, 2014 through June 30, 2016. Approval of Contract #26-770-1 will allow the Contractor to continue to provide temporary physicians and recruitment services through June 30, 2018.


CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:

If this contract is not approved, patients requiring physician services at CCRMC will not have access to Contractor’s services.
