RECOMMENDATION(S):
APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Public Works Director, or designee, to execute an Interagency Agreement with the County Office of Education, in the amount of $100,000, to recruit and place under-represented student workers in the Public Works Department for summer job training, for the period of June 1, 2016 through September 30, 2017, Countywide.

BACKGROUND:
The County Office of Education (OOE), Youth Development Services, has established a program to recruit and place under-represented student workers in County departments for summer job training. The program recruits and trains participants in basic work place etiquette and then, working with individual Departments, will place participants for summer job training. The program subsidizes $10 per hour for the first 150 hours per student, up to 600 hours.
