RECOMMENDATION(S):
1. OPEN public hearing on Resolution No. 2016/398, which adopts fees for certain services provided by the Contra Costa County Department of Agriculture 2. RECEIVE oral and written testimony regarding the proposed fees 3. CLOSE hearing 4. ADOPT Resolution No. 2016/398.
FISCAL IMPACT:
The revised Agriculture fee schedule will provide an annual increase of approximately $15,416 from these fees, totaling approximately $62,504 in funding for the department.
BACKGROUND:
The Food and Agriculture Code authorizes a county to charge fees for providing certain services (Food and Agriculture Code sections 5202, 5204, 6027.5, 6303, 11734, 11923, 12034, 15204, 29904, and 47020: and Labor Code section 1695). The Agriculture Department has conducted a fee study and determined that in order to recover the reasonable costs of services it provides, it is necessary and appropriate to charge and collect the fees set forth in this resolution.
CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:
If the resolution is not accepted, fees will nit be increased fees and reduce the anticipated budget by approximately $15,416.
