RECOMMENDATION(S):

APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Purchasing Agent, on behalf of Employment and Human Services Department, to amend the blanket purchase order #47378 with Quidsi Retail, LLC to increase the purchase order amount by $10,000 to a new total amount of $101,900 for the purchase of infant/child related child care products for County child care centers.

FISCAL IMPACT:

$101,900: 100% Federal

BACKGROUND:

The Employment and Human Services Department, Community Services Bureau, experienced an increase in the demand for childcare products, including diapers, wipes, and related baby supplies provided at County child care centers. That demand required provision of products in excess of the amount covered under the blanket purchase order amount of $91,900. This board order requests an increase in the purchase order amount of $10,000 for total amount of $101,900.

CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:

County child care centers would lack necessary infant/child related child care products.
