RECOMMENDATION(S):

APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Health Services Director, or designee, to execute Contract #26-350-16 with Merritt, Hawkins and Associates, LLC, a limited liability company, in an amount not to exceed $300,000, to recruit family practice physicians at Contra Costa Regional Medical and Health Centers, for the period July 1, 2016 through June 30, 2017. (100% Hospital Enterprise Fund I)

FISCAL IMPACT:

This Contract is funded 100% by Hospital Enterprise Fund I. (No rate increase)

BACKGROUND:

On July 21, 2015, the Board of Supervisors approved Contract #26-350-14 with Merritt, Hawkins and Associates, LLC, to recruit family practice physicians at CCRMC, for the period from July 1, 2015 through June 30, 2016. Approval of Contract #26-350-16 will allow Contractor to continue to recruit family practice physicians at CCRMC, through June 30, 2017. This contract includes modifications to the County Standard General Conditions, paragraph 19 (Insurance).

CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:

If this contract is not approved, patients requiring family practice physicians at CCRMC will not have access to Contractor’s services.
