RECOMMENDATION(S):

Approve and authorize the Health Services Director, or his designee, to execute, on behalf of the County, Contract #26-794-2 with Sonya Wyrobek, an individual, in an amount not to exceed $180,000 to provide certified midwife services at Contra Costa Regional Medical and Health Centers (CCRMC) for the period from June 1, 2016 through May 31, 2019.

FISCAL IMPACT:

This Contract is funded 100% Hospital Enterprise Fund I. (No rate increase)

BACKGROUND:

In June 2015, the County Administrator approved and the Purchasing Services Manager executed Contract #26-794 (as amended by Contract Amendment Agreement #26-794-1), with Sonya Wyrobek, to provide certified midwife services at Contra Costa Regional Medical and Health Centers (CCRMC) for the period from April 1, 2015 through May 31, 2016.

BACKGROUND: (CONT'D)

Approval of Contract #26-794-2 will allow Contractor to continue to provide certified midwife services at CCRMC through May 31, 2019.

CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:

If this contract is not approved, County will not receive midwife services from this Contractor.
