RECOMMENDATION(S):

Approve and authorize the Purchasing Agent, on behalf of the Health Services Department, to execute an amendment to the Purchase Order with EBS Medical LLC to add $100,000 for a new total payment limit of $199,000 for maintenance and service of specialty equipment through the Biomedical Department at the Contra Costa Regional Medical Center (CCRMC) and the Contra Costa Health Centers, with no change in the term of September 1, 2015 through August 31, 2016.

FISCAL IMPACT:

100% funding is included in the Hospital Enterprise Fund I Budget.

BACKGROUND:

New and old equipment must be maintained and checked to ensure it works and functions properly before being used on patients. The equipment includes minor equipment, blood pressure monitors, lighting source, and all other items used by medical personnel. The CCRMC and the Contra Costa Health Centers have utilized EBS Medical LLC maintenance personnel for a number of years. This vendor provides quality oriented, prompt and efficient personnel for the maintenance and repairs of medical and dental equipment, and enables the CCRMC and the Contra Costa Health Centers to provide optimum equipment to the medical staff and patients. Additional funds are needed due to the expansion of the Brentwood and Antioch Health Centers.

CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:

If this Purchase Order is not approved, we will not be able to cover the cost to service the equipment.

CHILDREN'S IMPACT STATEMENT:

Not applicable.
