RECOMMENDATION(S):

APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Purchasing Agent to execute, on behalf of the Public Works Director, a contract amendment with Crusader Fence Company, Inc., to increase the payment limit by $130,000 to a new payment limit of $430,000 for fencing installation and repairs, with no change to the original term of July 9, 2013 through June 30, 2016. Countywide.

FISCAL IMPACT:

This cost is to be funded through Facilities Services budget. (100% General Fund)

BACKGROUND:

Facilities Services is responsible for fencing installation and repairs at County facilities. As bid through Public Works Maintenance in May 2013, Crusader Fence Company, Inc. was awarded this commodity. Due to increased use during the past months, the department has exhausted the original dollar value of the contract. To complete the current scheduled projects, Public Works is requesting an amendment to increase the value of the contract.

CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:

If this contract amendment is not approved, fencing installation and repairs will not be performed.
