RECOMMENDATION(S):

APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Sheriff-Coroner, or designee, to execute a contract with Rudy Degger & Associates (dba We CARE) in an amount not to exceed $122,000 to provide classroom and field instruction in traffic accident investigations and reconstruction at the Law Enforcement Training Center for the period of July 1, 2016 through June 30, 2018.

FISCAL IMPACT:

84% Tuition Fees, 16% General Fund subsidy.

BACKGROUND:

Rudy Degger and Associates dba We CARE will provide classroom and field instruction in traffic accident investigations and reconstruction at the Sheriff's Office Law Enforcement Training Center Basic Academy. Training will be given to students attending the Academy. We CARE will provide student performance reviews to the Training Center Lieutenant, which will assist the Lieutenant in evaluating the student’s performance while attending the Academy..

CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:

The Sheriff's Office will not be able to contract with Rudy Degger and Associates for instruction at the Law Enforcement Training Center (LETC).
