RECOMMENDATION(S):

Approve and authorize the Health Services Director, or his designee, to execute, on behalf of the County, Contract #27-875-3 with Clarity Software Solutions, Inc., a corporation, in an amount not to exceed $4,000,000, to provide professional printing, publication, distribution and technical assistance for Contra Costa Health Plan member materials, for the period from July 1, 2015 through June 30, 2017.

FISCAL IMPACT:

This Contract is funded 100% by Contra Costa Health Plan Enterprise Fund II.

BACKGROUND:

On June 26, 2012 the Board of Supervisors approved Contract #27-875 (as amended by Amendment Agreements #27-875-1 and #27-875-2) with Clarity Software Solutions, Inc. for the provision of professional printing, publication, distribution and technical assistance for Contra Costa Health Plan member materials, for the period from July 1, 2012 through June 30, 2015. Approval of Contract #27–875-3 will allow the Contractor to continue to provide specialized printing, publication, distribution, and technical services, including producing member identification cards, marketing brochures, and informational packets, through June 30, 2017.


CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:

If this contract is not approved, the Contra Costa Health Plan would not be able to provide timely distribution of member materials.
