RECOMMENDATION(S):

Approve and authorize the Health Services Director, or his designee, to execute, on behalf of the County, Contract Amendment/Extension Agreement #23-461-5 with Vialanguage, Inc., a corporation, effective June 1, 2015, to amend Contract #23-461-4, to increase the payment limit by $100,000, from $100,000, to a new payment limit of $200,000, and extend the term from November 30, 2015 through November 30, 2016.

FISCAL IMPACT:

This Amendment/Extension is funded 100% by Hospital Enterprise I Fund. (No rate increase)

BACKGROUND:

In January 2014, the County Administrator approved and the Purchasing Services Manager executed Contract #23-461-4, with Vialanguage, Inc. for the provision of translation of written documents for the County’s Health Services Department, for the period from December 1, 2013 through November 30, 2015.

BACKGROUND: (CONT'D)

Approval of Contract Amendment/Extension Agreement #23-461-5 will allow the Contractor to continue providing services through November 30, 2016.

CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:

If this amendment is not approved, Contractor will not be able to provide written translation to Contra Costa Health Services and Contra Costa Health Plan.
