RECOMMENDATION(S):

Approve and authorize the Purchasing Agent, on behalf of the Health Services Department, to execute an amendment to Purchase Order #53649 with Elite Biomedical Inc., to add $36,000 for a new total of $135,000 for maintenance and service of specialty medical equipment for the Contra Costa Regional Medical Center (CCRMC) and the Contra Costa Health Centers, with no change in the original term of September 1, 2014 through August 31, 2015.

FISCAL IMPACT:

100% funding is included in the Hospital Enterprise Fund I Budget.

BACKGROUND:

The CCRMC and the Contra Costa Health Centers have utilized Elite Biomedical, Inc. maintenance personnel for a number of years. This vendor provides quality oriented, prompt and efficient personnel for the maintenance and repair of medical and dental equipment. This enables the CCRMC and the Contra Costa Health Centers to provide optimum equipment to the medical staff and patients.

CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:

If this purchase order is not approved, the CCRMC and the Contra Costa Health Centers will be unable to obtain timely maintenance and service for its dental equipment and suites.
