RECOMMENDATION(S):

APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Employment and Human Services Director, or designee, to execute a contract with Giv Nassiri in an amount not to exceed $156,000 for CalFresh Error Rate services for the period July 1, 2015, through June 30, 2016.

FISCAL IMPACT:

$156,000: 10% County, 45% State, 45% Federal

BACKGROUND:

The CalFresh program has special requirements to ensure customers appropriate and timely benefits. This requires a high degree of confidence in the quality of the determination of benefit eligibility. The Employment and Human Services Department is subject to periodic federal and state reviews, as well as ongoing assessment of program audits. Mr. Nassiri has been and continues to be instrumental in developing and implementing quality controls and assurance processes to reduce error, help build systems to streamline business processes, and train staff. Mr. Nassiri will assist in addressing issues arising from federal and state reviews.
