RECOMMENDATION(S):

Approve and authorize the Health Services Director, or his designee, to execute, on behalf of the County, Contract #26-883-25 with Rodney J. Chan, DPM, a self-employed individual, in an amount not to exceed $540,000, to provide podiatry services at Contra Costa County Regional Medical Center and Contra Costa Health Centers (CCRMC) for the period from June 1, 2015 through May 31, 2018.

FISCAL IMPACT:

This Contract is funded 100% by Hospital Enterprise Fund I. (Rate increase)

BACKGROUND:

On June 17, 2014, the Board of Supervisors approved Contract #26-883-22 (as amended by Amendment Agreements #26-883-23 and #26-883-24) with Rodney J. Chan, DPM, for the period from June 1, 2013 through May 31, 2015, for the provision of podiatry services including but not limited to, consultation, clinic coverage, training and medical/surgical procedures at CCRMC. Approval of Contract #26-883-25 will allow the Contractor to continue to provide podiatry services through May 31, 2018.



CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:

If this contract is not approved, patients requiring podiatry services at CCRMC will not have access to Contractor’s services, which may result in a reduction in the overall levels of service to the community.
