FISCAL IMPACT:

Cancel Forensic Supervisor $223,493.76

FISCAL IMPACT: (CONT'D)
Cancel Sheriff’s Aide $109,126.65
Savings $332,620.41
Add Deputy Sheriff Forensic Supervisor $314,913.60

Retirement share of costs will increase by $54,873.48 annually

BACKGROUND:

A Forensic Supervisor position has been vacated due to an internal promotion. Strategic planning for future staffing needs requires the creation of a Deputy Sheriff Forensic Supervisor position. To offset the additional costs, the Office of the Sheriff requests to cancel a vacant Sheriff’s Aide position. This will result in a net cost saving to the Office of the Sheriff’s General Fund.

CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:

Failure to approve this realignment within the Forensic Division will impede the effective implementation of the highest level of scientific work within the Forensic disciplines, which will effect the safety and security of the citizens the Office of the Sheriff serves.

CHILDREN'S IMPACT STATEMENT:

No Impact.
