RECOMMENDATION(S):

Approve and authorize the Health Services Director, or his designee, to execute, on behalf of the County, Contract Amendment Agreement #28-760-9 with West Contra Costa Unified School District (WCCUSD), effective January 1, 2015, to amend Interagency Agreement #28-760-8, to increase the payment limit by $120,340, from $60,000 to a new payment limit of $180,340, with no change in the original term of August 1, 2014 through June 30, 2015.

FISCAL IMPACT:

This amendment will reflect an increase of $120,340 from WCCUSD, resulting in a total payment to the County not to exceed $180,340 of funding for the WCCUSD School Health and Mental Health Support Services.

BACKGROUND:

On September 9, 2014, the Board of Supervisors approved Interagency Agreement #28-760-8 with WCCUSD for the provision of School Health and Support Service coordination, for the period from August 1, 2014 through June 30, 2015. Approval of Contract Amendment Agreement #28-760-9 will allow County to provide additional services to include mental health and counseling services through June 30, 2015.

CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:

If this amendment is not approved, County will not receive funding to continue providing services to school age children.
