RECOMMENDATION(S):

Approve and authorize the Health Services Director, or his designee, to execute, on behalf of the County, Contract #27-785-3 with Pacific Nephrology Medical Corporation, in an amount not to exceed $140,000, to provide Nephrology and Internal Medicine services to Contra Costa Health Plan members, for the period from July 1, 2015 through June 30, 2017.

FISCAL IMPACT:

This Contract is funded 100% by Contra Costa Health Plan Enterprise Fund II. (Rate increase)

BACKGROUND:

The Health Plan has an obligation to provide certain specialized professional health care services for its members under the terms of their Individual and Group Health Plan membership contracts with the County.

On October 21, 2013, the County Administrator approved and the Purchasing Services Manager executed Contract #27-785-2 with Pacific Nephrology Medical Corporation for the period July 1, 2013 through June 30, 2015 to provide Nephrology and Internal Medicine services.

Approved of Contract #27-785-3 will allow the Contractor to continue to provide Nephrology and Internal Medicine services through June 30, 2017.

CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:

If this contract is not approved, certain specialized professional health care services for its members under the terms of their Individual and Group Health Plan membership contracts with the County will not be provided.
