RECOMMENDATION(S):

ACCEPT resignation of Joshua Westbrook, DECLARE a vacancy in Business Seat No. 6 on the Workforce Development Board, and DIRECT the Clerk of the Board to post the vacancy, as recommended by the Employment and Human Services Director.

FISCAL IMPACT:

None

BACKGROUND:

The Workforce Development Board (WDB) was created pursuant to the federal Workforce Investment Act of 1998 and has responsibility for overall workforce investment policy, a newly mandated workforce investment plan and oversight of the new One-Stop Career Center system. Mr. Westbrook was initially appointed to Business Seat No. 6 on March 25, 2014. He was reappointed on June 3, 2014 with a term of June 30, 2018.

CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:

The Workforce Development Board will be unable to fill this position.
