RECOMMENDATION(S):

APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Employment and Human Services Director, or designee, to apply for and accept funding in an amount not to exceed $50,000 from the State Independent Living Council for Aging and Disability Resource Centers (ADRCs) promotion and development of expanded centers and services for the period July 1, 2015 through September 25, 2015.

FISCAL IMPACT:

County to receive an amount not to exceed $50,000. (100% State) (No County match)

BACKGROUND:

The State joined with Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services to promote and fund Aging and Disability Resource Centers (ADRCs), which assist individuals learn more about their community's long-term services and support options and obtain the services they need to live independently with long-term chronic conditions and/or disabilities. The State Independent Living Council (SILC) is promoting expansion of the ADRCs statewide and has released grant funds to begin the process.

CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:

Without funding, County could not provide promotion and development services for Aging and Disability Resource Centers.
