RECOMMENDATION(S):

REAPPOINT Willie Robinson to the County #2 seat on the Affordable Housing Finance Committee to a new three-year term expiring on June 30, 2018.

BACKGROUND:

The Affordable Housing Finance Committee (AHFC) advises the Board of Supervisors on the annual allocation of approximately $1.5 million in HOME Investment Partnership Act (HOME) and $1.3 million in Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds for affordable housing development in Contra Costa County. These funds are allocated to the County on an annual basis by formula through the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.

BACKGROUND: (CONT'D)

The IOC reviews nominations made by the AHFC for appointments to all Committee seats except the City seats. On June 30, 2015, the term of office for the County #2 seat will expire. On May 12, the IOC approved the AHFC's nomination to reappoint Willie Robinson to the County #2 seat and recommends to the Board of Supervisors his reappointment.

CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:

If the Board elects not to appoint Mr. Robinson, then the seat will remain vacant and the at-large contingent on the AHFC will be underrepresented.
