RECOMMENDATION(S):

ADOPT Position Adjustment Resolution No. 21669 to increase the hours of two (2) permanent part-time Registered Nurse-Experienced Level (VWXD) position #7546 from 24/40 to 40/40 and position #8425 from 32/40 to 40/40 at salary level L32-1878 ($8,690 - $8,908) in the Health Services Department (Represented).

FISCAL IMPACT:

Upon approval, this action has an annual cost of approximately $86,187.63 with pension cost $30,596.61 already included. The entire cost is completely offset by Federally Qualified Health Care revenue to Enterprise Fund I.

BACKGROUND:

The Health Services Department is requesting to increase the hours of permanent part-time Registered Nurse-Experienced Level (VWXD) position #7546 from 24/40 to 40/40/ and position #8425 from 32/40 to 40/40 as provided by the memorandum of understanding between the County and California Nurses Association (CNA). The incumbents have been working the increased hours in the past six months and the Department has determined there is an ongoing need for these increased hours in order to maintain patient care services in the Concord Ambulatory Care Health Center. There is n annual cost of approximately $86,187.63, which is entirely offset by Federally Qualified Health Care revenue.

CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:

If this action is not approved, there will not be enough staff hours to meet the patient care needs at the Concord Health Center.
