RECOMMENDATION(S):

Approve and authorize the Health Services Director, or his designee, to execute, on behalf of the County, Contract #27-589-8 with Night Owl Pediatrics, Inc., a corporation, in an amount not to exceed $850,000, to provide urgent care services to Contra Costa County Health Plan (CCHP) members, for the period from July 1, 2015 through June 30, 2017.

FISCAL IMPACT:

This Contract is funded 100% by Contra Costa Health Plan Enterprise II funds. (Rate increase)

BACKGROUND:

On August 13, 2013, the Board of Supervisors approved Contract #27-589-7 with Night Owl Pediatrics, Inc., for the period from July 1, 2013 through June 30, 2015 or the provision of professional urgent care services, to .CCHP members.

BACKGROUND: (CONT'D)

Approval of Contract #27-589-8 will allow Contractor to continue providing professional urgent care services through June 30, 2017.

CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:

If this contract is not approved, certain specialized professional health care services for its members under the terms of their Individual and Group Health Plan membership contracts with the County will not be provided.
