RECOMMENDATION(S):

APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Chair, Board of Supervisors, to execute the Federal Apportionment State Match Program agreement with Caltrans that will authorize the County to receive the amount of $100,000 from the State Matching funds for Fiscal Year 2014/2015 for transportation purposes, Countywide.

FISCAL IMPACT:

100% County Road Fund. This agreement will authorize the County to receive the amount of $100,000 from the State Matching funds.

BACKGROUND:

The Federal Apportionment State Match Program Agreement No. X15-5928(127) specifies that Caltrans agrees to pay the County $100,000 from the unobligated balance of its State Matching monies for Fiscal Year 2014/2015. The money must be used for transportation purposes in accordance with Article XIX of the California State Constitution.

CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:

Failure to approve this agreement will eliminate a potential funding source.
