RECOMMENDATION(S):

APPROVE Appropriation and Revenue Adjustment No. 5063 to increase Federal and State Realignment revenue and decrease State General Fund revenue in the amount of $1,106,774 in the CalWORKS and Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Programs.

FISCAL IMPACT:

Net adjustment of $1,106,744 to increase Federal and State Realignment revenue and appropriations and to decrease State General Fund revenue and appropriations. No change in County share of funding. Note: Federal increase = $7,247,123; State Realignment increase = $12,243,564; State General Fund decrease = ($18,383,913); Total net increase = $1,106,774

BACKGROUND:

The Employment & Human Services Department is adjusting CalWORKS assistance expenditures and revenue to more closely reflect actuals and the latest forecasts.

CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:

Appropriations will not be properly allocated.
