RECOMMENDATION(S):

APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the submittal of the Contra Costa County Area Agency on Aging 2015-2016 Area Plan Update to the California Department of Aging for aging and adult services and AUTHORIZE the Chair, Board of Supervisors to sign the Letter of Transmittal.

FISCAL IMPACT:

No fiscal impact.

BACKGROUND:

The Area Agency on Aging (AAA) is required by the State to develop and submit a comprehensive four-year plan and subsequent updates to continue to receive annual State funding for aging and adult services. The State will determine funding levels based upon county submissions.

CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:

Without BOS approval and submission of the Area Agency on Aging Plan Update, future funding would be withheld.
