BACKGROUND:

The Contra Costa County Mental Health Commission was established by order of the Contra Costa County Board of Supervisors on June 22, 1993, pursuant to the Welfare & Institutions Code 5604, also known as the Bronzan-McCorquodale Act, Stats. 1992, c. 1374 (A.B. 14). The primary purpose of the Commission is to serve in an advisory capacity to the Board of Supervisors and to the Mental Health Division and its staff. Commissioners are appointed by members of the County Board of Supervisors from each of the five districts for a term of three years. Each district has a consumer of mental health services, family member and an at-large representative on the Commission, for a total of 15 members plus a representative and alternate from the Board of Supervisors.

Ms. Rettagliata has been serving as the District II Family Member Seat representative and Supervisor Andersen would like her to continue the great work.

CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:

The District II Family Member Seat will become vacant.

CHILDREN'S IMPACT STATEMENT:

None.
