Referral History:

At the March 6, 2023 Los Medanos Healthcare Operations Committee meeting staff was directed to provide information on the status of the Los Medanos Health Area interim grant program.

Referral Update:

The Los Medanos Health Advisory Committee met on 4/1/23 and 4/18/23 to review the applications for the Los Medanos Interim Grant Program. There were 14 organizations that applied for the interim grants. After discussion the Advisory committee approved grants to all 14 organizations. The requested and approved grant amounts are listed below. County staff is working with each organization to establish service contracts. Contract period is 12/1/22 to 6/30/23.

Fiscal Impact (if any):

These actions were approved by the Board of Supervisors on 12/6/22 that allocated up to $500,000 of Los Medanos Community Health District (LMCHD) property tax revenues to community programs within the LMCHD boundaries. There is no fiscal impact to the County General Fund. (100% Los Medanos Community Healthcare District Funding). The Holiday Emergency grants totaled $50,000 and the Interim grants totaled $428,269 for a grand total of $478,269. This is under the amount approved by the Board of Supervisors.
