RECOMMENDATION(S):

APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Health Services Director, or designee, to execute on behalf of the County Contract #24-681-2(39) with God’s Grace Caring Home, Inc., a corporation, in an amount not to exceed $392,076, to provide augmented board and care services for the period from July 1, 2022 through June 30, 2023.

FISCAL IMPACT:

Approval of this contract will result in annual expenditures of up to $392,076 and will be budgeted by the department in FY 2022-23 and funded 100% by Mental Health Realignment allocations.

BACKGROUND:

This contract meets the social needs of the County’s population by providing augmented board and care services including, but not limited to room and board, and twenty-four (24) hour emergency residential care and supervision for mentally ill adults. The Health Services Department has been contracting with God’s Grace Caring Home, Inc., since September 1, 1995, to provide augmented board and care services.

BACKGROUND: (CONT'D)

On May 11, 2021, the Board of Supervisors approved Contract #24-681-2(38) with God’s Grace Caring Home, Inc., in an amount not to exceed $381,650, to provide augmented board and care services for the period from July 1, 2021 through June 30, 2022.

Approval of Contract #24-681-2(39) will allow the contractor to continue providing augmented board and care services through June 30, 2023.

CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:

If this contract is not approved, the County’s mental health clients will not receive augmented board and care from this contractor.
