RECOMMENDATION(S):
APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Employment and Human Services Director, or designee, to execute an agreement with Contra Costa County In-Home Supportive Services (IHSS) Public Authority, a public agency, in an amount not to exceed $2,680,000 to provide in-home supportive services to IHSS recipients for the period July 1, 2022 through June 30, 2023.
FISCAL IMPACT:
This will increase department expenditures by $2,680,000 to be funded with 48% Federal, 34% State, and 18% County revenues. (CFDA # 93.778)
BACKGROUND:
The County Board of Supervisors enacted Ordinance Number 98-14 in March 1998 establishing the Contra Costa County In-Home Supportive Services Public Authority (PA) as an independent public agency pursuant to California Welfare and Institutions Code section 12301.6. While the PA is an independent public agency providing service to the County, it also receives services from County departments. This dual relationship requires an agreement that establishes the respective obligations and responsibilities of the County and the PA. This Board Order will authorize the execution of the FY 2022-23 interagency agreement and will ensure the continuation of IHSS program services.
