RECOMMENDATION(S):

APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Health Services Director, or designee, to execute on behalf of the County Contract #23-455-20 with Atos Digital Health Solutions, Inc., a corporation, effective February 1, 2022, to amend Contract #23-455-18, to increase the payment limit by $400,000, from $470,000 to a new payment limit of $870,000 to provide additional consulting, technical assistance, and training to the Contra Costa Regional Medical Center’s (CCRMC) Materials Management Unit, for the period from July 1, 2021 through June 30, 2022.

FISCAL IMPACT:

Approval of this amendment will result in additional annual expenditures of up to $400,000 for FY 2021-2022 and will be funded 100% by Hospital Enterprise Fund I revenues. (No rate increase)

BACKGROUND:

The CCRMC Materials Management and Biomed Units have been using the services of Atos consultants (formerly Xerox Consultant Company, ACS Consultant Company, Inc.) since 2019. This contractor has enabled these Units to save money and improve efficiency. The consultant is working on projects which will continue to yield cost savings for the CCRMC Materials Management Unit.

On June 8, 2021, the Board of Supervisors approved Contract #23-455-18 with Atos Digital Health Solutions, Inc. in an amount not to exceed $470,000 for the provision of consulting and technical support services to the Health Services Department’s Information Systems Unit for the Laboratory and Materials Management System for CCRMC and Contra Costa Health Centers regarding cost saving and efficiency of the Unit and technical support and training for staff on the Meditech System, for the period from July 1, 2021 through June 30, 2022.

Approval of Amendment Agreement #23-455-20 will allow the contractor to provide additional consulting and technical assistance services to the Materials Management Unit through June 30, 2022. This amendment request was submitted late by the Division due to administrative oversight. The effective date of this amendment is February 1, 2022.

CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:

If this amendment is not approved, contractor will not be able to provide additional cost saving and efficiency consulting and support services for the CCRMC’s Materials Management.
