RECOMMENDATION(S):

APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Auditor-Controller to issue a refund for overpayment of documentary transfer tax totaling $2,502.50 to specified parties.

FISCAL IMPACT:

The recommendation will result in a reduction of $2,502.50 to the County General Fund: $313.50 is from the 2019-2020 fiscal year and $2,189.00 is from the 2020-2021 fiscal year.

The County Clerk-Recorder received a duplicate payment of documentary transfer tax from the following parties in the amounts listed below:

CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:

Failure to authorize reimbursement would result in the aforementioned parties paying more than legally required for documentary transfer tax.
