RECOMMENDATION(S):

APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Health Services Director, or designee, to execute on behalf of the County Contract #24-681-2(38) with God`s Grace Caring Home, Inc., a corporation, in an amount not to exceed $380,651 to provide augmented board and care services, for the period from July 1, 2021 through June 30, 2022.

FISCAL IMPACT:

This contract will result in contractual service expenditures of up to $380,651 and will be funded as budgeted by the department in FY 2021-22, by 100% Mental Health Realignment revenues. (Rate increase)

BACKGROUND:

The Behavioral Health Services Department has been contracting with God`s Grace Caring Home, Inc., since January 1, 1999 to provide augmented board and care services for mentally ill adults.

BACKGROUND: (CONT'D)

This contract meets the social needs of the County's population by augmenting room and board and providing twenty-four hour emergency residential care and supervision to eligible mentally disordered clients, who are specifically referred by the Mental Health Program staff and who are served by County Mental Health Services.

On April 28, 2020, the Board of Supervisors approved Contract #24-681-2(37) with God’s Grace Caring Home, Inc., to provide augmented board and care services for mentally ill adults, through June 30, 2021.

Approval of Contract #24-681-2(38) will allow this contractor to continue to provide augmented board and care services through June 30, 2022.

CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:

If this contract is not approved, the County will not be able to provide augmented board and care services to mentally ill adults in Contra Costa County.
