RECOMMENDATION(S):

APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Health Services Director, or designee, to execute on behalf of the County Contract Amendment Agreement #24–933–41 with Crestwood Behavioral Health, Inc., a corporation, effective May 1, 2020, to amend Contract #24–933–40 to increase the payment limit by $124,920, from $8,389,976 to a new payment limit of $8,514,896, with no change in the term of July 1, 2019 through June 30, 2020.

FISCAL IMPACT:

This Contract is funded by 92% Mental Health Realignment funds and 8% Mental Health Services Act (No rate increase)

BACKGROUND:

This Contract meets the social needs of County’s population in that it provides subacute skilled nursing care services for County’s Severe and Persistent Mental Illness (SPMI) and neurobehavioral clients.

On July 9, 2019, the Board of Supervisors approved Contract #24-933-40 with Crestwood Behavioral Health, Inc., to provide sub-acute skilled nursing care for SPMI and neurobehavioral clients for the period from July 1, 2019 through June 30, 2020.  
  
Approval of Contract Amendment #24-933-41 will allow the Contractor to provide additional services through June 30, 2020.

CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:

If the amendment is not approved, a significant number of mentally ill young adults and adults may be displaced to the community without the mental health services they require.
