RECOMMENDATION(S):

APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Health Services Director, or designee, to execute on behalf of the County Contract #28-906-1 with the City of Oakley, a government agency, to provide congregate meal services for County’s Senior Nutrition Program for the period from July 1, 2020 through June 30, 2021, which includes a three-month automatic extension through September 30, 2021.

FISCAL IMPACT:

Agency will pay County the voluntary contributions it receives from participating seniors, after it has paid its authorized expenses. No County funds required.

BACKGROUND:

This Contract meets the social needs of County’s population by providing an average of 35 congregate one day per week for senior citizens at the Oakley Senior Center.

BACKGROUND: (CONT'D)
On January 7, 2020, the Board of Supervisors approved Contract #28-906 with City of Oakley to provide congregate meal services for County’s Senior Nutrition Program, for the period from July 1, 2019 through June 30, 2020, which included a three-month automatic extension through September 30, 2020.

Approval of Contract #28-906-1 replaces the automatic extension under the prior contract and allows the Contractor to continue to provide congregate meal services through June 30, 2021.

CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:

If this contract is not approved, County’s senior citizens who depend on County’s Senior Nutrition Program will not receive meals at Contractor’s facility.
