RECOMMENDATION(S):
APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Employment and Human Services Director, or designee, to accept $677,138 from the California Department of Aging, Emergency Nutrition Funding, Families First Coronavirus Response Act for senior nutrition services for the period March 20, 2020 through September 30, 2021.
FISCAL IMPACT:
County to receive $677,138 from California Department of Aging, Emergency Nutrition Funding. Funded by Families First Coronavirus Response Act (H. R. 6201). Funding is 100% Federal and no County match is required. An appropriation adjustment for this funding is submitted for Board consideration at the May 12, 2020 Board of Supervisor's meeting.
BACKGROUND:
This funding is for Senior Nutrition Services as a response to the COVID-19 crisis and is funded by the Families First Coronavirus Response Act (H.R. 6201). Under the Major Disaster Declaration, Stafford Act maximum Title III funding flexibility is allowed for disaster relief for older individuals. A separate Interagency agreement will be submitted to authorize this funding for Senior Nutrition services to be administered by the Contra Costa Department of Public Health.
