RECOMMENDATION(S):

APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Sheriff-Coroner, or designee, to execute a sub-sublease with Concord Jet Service Incorporated, in an amount not to exceed $300,000 for the County to receive aircraft hangar space for the period May 18, 2020 through April 30, 2024.

FISCAL IMPACT:

100% General Fund. Budgeted.

BACKGROUND:

The Office of the Sheriff requires additional hangar space to accommodate its specialized law enforcement aviation capabilities to include search and rescue. The hangar space located at 1450 Sally Ride Drive in Concord provides suitable facility for the storage of department aircraft. This area is the only suitable facility that has been identified that meets the needs of the Office of the Sheriff.

CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:

Failure to approve will result in the inability of the Office of the Sheriff to adequately store law enforcement aircraft.
