RECOMMENDATION(S):

APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Purchasing Agent to execute, on behalf of the Health Services Director, the following actions to recognize the vendor’s name change from Universal Hospital Services, Inc. (UHS) to Agiliti Health, Inc.:


1) Cancel existing Purchase Order #011286 with Universal Hospital Services, Inc. (UHS); and

RECOMMENDATION(S): (CONT'D)

2) Issue a new Purchase Order with Agiliti Health, Inc. in the amount of $1,000,000 for the rental of medical devices and equipment for the Contra Costa Regional Medical Center (CCRMC) for the period from December 3, 2018 to December 31, 2019.

FISCAL IMPACT:

This Purchase Order is funded by the remaining balance of $242,073 from UHS Purchase Order #011286, and additional the funding in the amount of $757,927 which is needed in order to continue services through December 31, 2019 and is included in the Hospital Enterprise Fund I budget.

BACKGROUND:

On December 3, 2018, UHS Surgical Services, Inc. changed their name to Agility Health, Inc. the above recommendations are needed to enable CCRMC to continue obtaining services that are now provided by Agiliti Health, Inc. CCRMC rents hospital beds, infusion pumps, and other medical equipment and devices from this vendor. They provide competitive pricing through the Vizient Group Purchasing Contract.

CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:

If this Purchase Order is not approved, the CCRMC will be unable to provide cost-efficient basic patient care services to its patients.
