RECOMMENDATION(S):

APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Purchasing Agent, on behalf of the Employment and Human Services Department (EHSD), to execute a purchase order with Integrated Archive Systems in the amount not to exceed $114,651 to procure additional NetApp Disk Storage FAS8040 for the period of May 22, 2019 through May 21, 2020.

FISCAL IMPACT:

This contract will increase expenditures by up to $114,651 and will be paid out of Administrative Overhead (43% Federal, 52% State, 5% County).

BACKGROUND:

EHSD's Information Technology Unit, will be purchasing additional NetApp Disk Storage FAS8040. EHSD needs additional disk storage capacity to continue it's physical server to virtual server migration. EHSD's current infrastructure of virtual servers is quickly approaching the system's capacity. Adding the additional capacity will enable EHSD to continue to grow its virtual server environment. This environment will enable EHSD to bring additional technology to staff and clients to include, but not limited to, video/voice conferencing, instant messaging, and virtual desktops.

BACKGROUND: (CONT'D)

In accordance with Administrative Bulletin No. 611.0, County Departments are required to get Board approval for single item purchases greater than $100,000.

CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:

The Employment and Human Services Department will be at risk of not meeting standards for performance, reliability, and cost effectiveness.
