ACCEPT Employment and Human Services Department, Community Services Bureau 2019-20 Planning Calendar, as approved by the Head Start Policy Council and recommended by the Employment and Human Services Director.

FISCAL IMPACT:

There is no fiscal impact.

BACKGROUND:

The Head Start Performance Standard 1302.101 Management System mandates that the Head Start grantee develop a plan for program operations and that this plan be reviewed and approved by the Head Start governing body. BACKGROUND: (CONT'D)
This board order accepts the 2019-20 planning calendar for the Community Services Bureau, covering milestones for various Head Start and Community Action programs for the year. The planning calendar will be approved by the Head Start Policy Council on May 15, 2019.

CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:

If not accepted, Department will not be in compliance with Head Start regulations.

CHILDREN'S IMPACT STATEMENT:

The Employment and Human Services Department Community Services Bureau supports three of Contra Costa County’s community outcomes - Outcome 1: Children Ready for and Succeeding in School, Outcome 3: Families that are Economically Self-Sufficient, and Outcome 4: Families that are Safe, Stable, and Nurturing. These outcomes are achieved by offering comprehensive services, including high quality early childhood education, nutrition, and health services to low-income children throughout Contra Costa County.
