The construction contract will be funded by 36% Transportation Development Act (TDA) Grant Funds and 64% Local Road Funds.
The above project was previously approved by the Board of Supervisors, plans and specifications were filed with the Board, and bids were invited by the Public Works Director. On April 17, 2018, the Public Works Department received bids from the following contractors:
BIDDER, TOTAL AMOUNT, BOND AMOUNTS
Tennyson Electric, Inc.: $477,222.00; Payment: $477,222.00; Performance: $477,222.00
St. Francis Electric, LLC.: $627,682.00
W. Bradley Electric, Inc.: $754,999.00
Gruendl, Inc., dba Ray’s Electric: $3,639,605.00
The bidder listed first above, Tennyson, submitted the lowest responsive and responsible bid, which is $150,460.00 less than the next lowest bid.
The Public Works Director recommends waiving any irregularities in Tennyson compliance with the requirements of the County’s Outreach Program, as provided in the project specifications, and the Public Works Director recommends that the construction contract be awarded to Tennyson.
The Public Works Director recommends that the bid submitted by Tennyson is the lowest responsive and responsible bid, and this Board concurs and so finds.
The Board of Supervisors previously determined that the project is exempt from the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) as a Class 1(c) Categorical Exemption, and a Notice of Exemption was filed with the County Clerk on February 12, 2015.
The general prevailing rates of wages, which shall be the minimum rates paid on this project, have been filed with the Clerk of the Board, and copies will be made available to any party upon request.
Construction of the project would be delayed, and the project might not be built.
