RECOMMENDATION(S):

APPOINT Dr. Charlene Harlan-Ogbeide to the Local Committee San Pablo seat on the Advisory Council on Aging, as recommended by the Employment and Human Services Department Director.

FISCAL IMPACT:

None

BACKGROUND:

The seat is currently vacant, and the City of San Pablo approved this candidate at its April 2, 2018 City Council meeting. The term will end September 30, 2018.

BACKGROUND: (CONT'D)

The Advisory Council on Aging (ACOA) provides a means for county-wide planning, cooperation, and coordination for individuals and groups interested in improving and developing services and opportunities for older residents of the County. ACOA provides leadership and advocacy on behalf of older persons and is a channel of communication and information on aging.

CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:

The Advisory Council on Aging may not be able to conduct routine business.
