RECOMMENDATION(S):

ADOPT Traffic Resolution No. 2018/4466 to prohibit parking at all times on the east side of Arlington Avenue (Road No. 1451), beginning 350 feet north of the north curb line of Wellesley Avenue (Road No. 1655AG), and continuing northerly for a distance of 40 feet, as recommended by the Public Works Director, Kensington area. (District l)

FISCAL IMPACT:

No fiscal impact.

BACKGROUND:

The Traffic Section received a request from the Kensington Police Department to prohibit parking for vehicles parking along the east curb of Arlington Avenue and Sunset Drive. It was indicated by Kensington Police that parked vehicles at this location were resulting in a safety concern for vehicles making U-turns and blocking bus access to the existing bus stop. This action will allow local authorities' power to enforce the California Vehicle Code.

CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:

Parking will remain unrestricted.
