RECOMMENDATION(S):

APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Health Services Director, or designee, to execute on behalf of the County, Contract Amendment/Extension Agreement #27-799-8 with Health Management Systems, Inc., a corporation, effective January 1, 2018, to amend Contract #27-799-6 (as amended by Contract Amendment Agreement #27-799-7), to increase the payment limit by $300,000, from $3,000,000 to a new payment limit of $3,300,000 and extended the termination date from January 31, 2019 to December 31, 2020 for additional professional auditing services.

FISCAL IMPACT:

This contract is funded 100% by Contra Costa Health Plan Enterprise Fund II. (No rate increase)

BACKGROUND:

On February 7, 2017, the Board of Supervisors approved Contract #27-799-6 (as amended by Contract Amendment Agreement #27-799-7), with Health Management Systems, Inc., for the provision of professional auditing services, for the period from February 1, 2017 through January 31, 2019.

BACKGROUND: (CONT'D)

Approval of Contract Amendment/Extension Agreement #27-799-8 will allow the contractor to provide additional professional auditing services to the Contra Costa Health Plan through December 31, 2020.

CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:

If this amendment is not approved, the Contra Costa Health Plan will be out of compliance with Medi-Cal Audit Corrective Action Plan requirements.
