RECOMMENDATION(S):

Approve and authorize the Health Services Director, or his designee, to execute, on behalf of the County, Contract #27-975-1 with George Counelis, M.D., Inc. (dba Bay Area Neurosciences), a corporation, in an amount not to exceed $300,000, to provide neurosurgery services to Contra Costa Health Plan (CCHP) members for the period from June 1, 2017 through May 31, 2019.

FISCAL IMPACT:

This Contract is funded 100% by Contra Costa Health Plan Enterprise Fund II.

BACKGROUND:

The Health Plan has an obligation to provide certain specialized health care services for its members under the terms of their Individual and Group Health Plan membership contracts with the County.

Under Contract #27-975-1, the Contractor will provide neurosurgery services to CCHP members through May 31, 2019.

CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:

If this contract is not approved, certain specialized health care services for its members under the terms of their Individual and Group Health Plan membership contracts with the County will not be provided.
