RECOMMENDATION(S):

Approve and authorize the Health Services Director, or his designee, to execute, on behalf of the County, Contract #27-272-11 with East Bay Retina Consultants, A Medical Group, Inc., a corporation, in an amount not to exceed $500,000, to provide ophthalmology and retina surgery services to Contra Costa Health Plan (CCHP) members for the period from June 1, 2017 through May 31, 2019.

FISCAL IMPACT:

This Contract is funded 100% by Contra Costa Health Plan Enterprise Fund II. (No rate increase)

BACKGROUND:

On April 21, 2015, the Board of Supervisors approved Contract #27-272-10 with East Bay Retina Consultants, A Medical Group, Inc., for the period from June 1, 2015 through May 31, 2017, for the provision of ophthalmology and retina surgery services, to CCHP members.

BACKGROUND: (CONT'D)

Approval of Contract #27-272-11 will allow Contractor to continue providing ophthalmology and retina surgery services through May 31, 2019.

CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:

If this contract is not approved, certain specialized health care services for its members under the terms of their Individual and Group Health Plan membership contracts with the County will not be provided.
