RECOMMENDATION(S):

Approve and authorize the Health Services Director, or his designee, to execute, on behalf of the County, Contract #27-911-2 with Express Medicine Urgent Care, Inc., a corporation, in an amount not to exceed $400,000, to provide primary care services to Contra Costa Health Plan (CCHP) members and County recipients for the period from June 1, 2017 through May 31, 2019.

FISCAL IMPACT:

This Contract is funded 100% by Contra Costa Health Plan Enterprise Fund II. (No rate increase)

BACKGROUND:

On April 21, 2015, the Board of Supervisors approved Contract #27-911-1 with Express Medicine Urgent Care, Inc., for the provision of primary care services to CCHP members and County recipients, for the period from June 1, 2015 through May 31, 2017. Approval of Contract #27-911-2 will allow Contractor to continue providing primary care services to CCHP members and County recipients through May 31, 2019.

CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:

If this contract is not approved, certain specialized health care services for its members under the terms of their Individual and Group Health Plan membership contracts with the County will not be provided.
