RECOMMENDATION(S):

Approve and authorize the Health Services Director, or his designee to execute on behalf of the County, Contract #27-253-13 with California Eye Clinic, a partnership, in an amount not to exceed $1,000,000, to provide ophthalmology, optometry and ambulatory surgery center services for Contra Costa Health Plan members and County recipients for the period from May 1, 2017 through April 30, 2019.

FISCAL IMPACT:

This contract is funded 100% by Contra Costa Health Plan Enterprise Fund II. (No rate increase)

BACKGROUND:

On April 21, 2015, the Board of Supervisors approved Contract #27-253-11 (as amended by Contract Amendment Agreement #27-253-12) with California Eye Clinic, a partnership, for the period from May 1, 2015 through April 30, 2017 to provide ophthalmology and optometry services to Contra Costa Health Plan members and County recipients.

BACKGROUND: (CONT'D)

Approval of Contract #27-253-13 will allow the Contractor to provide ophthalmology, optometry and ambulatory surgery center services through April 30, 2019.

CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:

If this contract is not approved, certain specialized professional health care services for its members under the terms of their Individual and Group Health Plan membership contracts with the County will not be provided.
