RECOMMENDATION(S):

Approve and authorize the Health Services Director, or his designee, to execute, on behalf of the County, Contract #22–806–27 with Public Health Foundation Enterprises, Inc., a corporation, in an amount not to exceed $987,841, to provide consulting and technical assistance on community health promotion for Public Health’s Health Emergency Unit and Health Services Emergency Medical Service Unit, for the period from July 1, 2017 through June 30, 2018.

FISCAL IMPACT:

This contract is funded 100% by Center for Disease Control funds. (No rate increase)

BACKGROUND:

This Contract provides organization services for the Public Health’s Health Emergency Unit and Health Services Emergency Medical Service Unit. Services provided by this contract also include leadership and public health advocacy training.

On July 12, 2016, the Board of Supervisors approved Contract #22–806–25 with Public Health Foundation Enterprises, Inc., for the period from July 1, 2016 through June 30, 2017, for the provision of consulting and technical assistance on community health promotion.  
  
Approval of Contract #22–806–27 will allow the Contractor to continue providing services through June 30, 2018.

CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:

If this contract is not approved, County residents who depend on services from Public Health Emergency Unit and Health Services Emergency Medical Service Unit may not receive the services they need.
